The weekend of September 13-14, 2008 is Decoration. The festivities will begin with the country breakfast, prepared by the ladies of the church, and served from 8 until 10 on Saturday morning in the Fellowship Hall of the church. (Donations only.) Please join us; it is a great time for visiting with friends and neighbors.
The Sunday morning church service will be at 11 a.m. and will be conducted by our minister, Pete Fender. This will be a good time to meet our new pastor and his family.
We have been working on the cemetery grounds, but it is exceedingly dry in Piney Creek. Please remember there is water available at several faucets in the cemetery for you to use on flowers.
We will not clean any graves for two weeks after Decoration. If there are items you wish to keep, please remove before Monday, September 29th. Thank you for the great job that you did in 2007.
When you come to Piney Creek this year, be sure to drive through the intersection at Highway 93 and Pugh Road. It has a totally new appearance.
The Piney Creek Dirty Fingers Garden Club has been able to purchase (with a loan) one and one half acres that surround the little white church on the corner. Improving the area with landscaping and beautification will be an ongoing project of theirs.
